Job overview-
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Control Panel Shop Project Manager to oversee the daily operations of the control panel shop, ensuring efficiency in high quality production, and adherence to safety standards. The role includes managing staff, liaising with customers, ensuring timely delivery of products, and controlling costs while maximizing profitability. He will also ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Reports to- President / Owner
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Operational Management - Manage the day-to-day operations of the control panel shop, including scheduling, workflow optimization, and maintaining equipment. Collaboration and consult with all the technicians on projects.
Technical – The incumbent in this role, will also be responsible for working alongside for building on panels, this includes but is not limited to the following:
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics,
• Assembling and wiring electrical control panels, including back-plates, panel cut outs, and mounting and labelling devices,
• Cutting, stripping, bending and mounting wires in order to connect electrical units with the panel box,
• Identifying and correcting malfunctioning installation and/or components using test equipment and hand tools,
• Ensuring continuity of circuits in electrical wiring to ensure safety of the system.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Post secondary education in Electrical Technology, or other equivalent education and experience,
• Proven experience as a Control Panel Shop Manager or in a similar leadership role within the industrial sector, with 2-4 years of experience building panels.
• Experience working with Dynamics Business Central for minimum 2 years transforming critical business processes.
• Ability to read and interpret various electrical layout schematics, mechanical aptitude and experience using basic tools.
• Experience with Motor Control Centres would be an asset.
• Exceptional organization skills and experience with warehouse organization and management is a plus.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, proven ability to take charge, lead initiatives and drive results.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for both customer and staff relations.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Lifting up to 35lbs is an essential job function.
• Must possess a valid class G2 Driver’s License, or better, with a clean driving record.

On site conditions can vary, either working in a trailer on site, walking or on your feet for long periods of time, high levels of noise, weather and temperature can vary depending on season, mainly outdoors.
