Job Title: Counter Sales Representative

Job Location: Calgary, AB.

Full Time/Part Time: Full time, On-site

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

You will be responsible for assisting customers at the counter, managing inventory and processing orders.

What You’ll Do

• Customer Assistance & Sales Support: Assist customers by answering phones, providing product recommendations to help them find the products they need. Maintain strong customer relationships.

• Order Processing & ERP Management: Use the ERP system (Business Central), coordinate with other branches to look up stock, source products from vendors, and ensure accurate and timely order entry. Process orders in ERP and capture customer information into CRM.

• Technical Coordination & Testing: Coordinate orders with technicians for testing and ensure that products are ready for customer delivery.

• Packaging & Shipping: Package small boxes for shipment, ensuring that items are properly packed and labeled.

• Inventory Management: Organize and maintain shelves, stock inventory as it arrives, and ensure that items are properly stored and accessible.

• Ongoing Product Training & Research: Ability to memorize product details and learn ongoing products including part numbers. Initiative to research product specifications using OEM catalogs to provide accurate and detailed information to customers.

• Networking & Industry Engagement: Represent the Company at trade shows, golf tournaments, and social industry gatherings to build relationships and promote the business.

• Coordination: Work alongside team members on issues related to orders, transfers, and purchases.

• General Warehouse Duties: Support warehouse activities, including unloading deliveries, moving products, keeping the workspace clean and organized, and assisting with any other tasks needed to ensure smooth operations.

What You’ll Bring

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years experience in a customer-facing role in sales or counter service; preferably in the electrical industry.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to accurately take orders, discuss product details, and assist customers with technical expertise.

• Electrical product knowledge or industrial knowledge is an asset. Understanding pricing strategies and customer relations is essential.

• General computer literacy is a must. Experience using CRM software is preferred.

• Experience in marketing electrical products and cold calling to drive new business.

• Team player with ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently and stay organized.

• Comfort and skill in meeting and engaging with new people face-to-face, particularly at industry events.

• Willingness to travel for trade shows and company events.

• Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is an asset.

Working Conditions:

• The position may be required to work with chemicals and other hazardous materials such as isopropyl alcohol or other electronic cleaners, contact cleaners, insulating varnish, degreasers and other industrial grade adhesives and cleaning supplies

• Employee may be required to work weekends or after-hours per business needs

Physical Requirements:

• Bending, lifting, and carrying.

• Extended periods of standing.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
